Mar-Fab was born and evolved from the idea of Earl Phifer, a former GM engine line foreman and an experienced Marine Dealer/Technician, and his son, Kurt Phifer, an Industrial Technology graduate from Tennessee Tech University with a passion for engines and machining. The company was formally named Marine Fabrication Inc. in 1990, and has grown to serve the marine industry ever since. As well as our parts warehouse, our experienced, marine specific machine shop provides services such as boring , sleeving, welding, pressure testing, cleaning and much more. We have been researching and machining marine outboard engines for over 23 years.

Several years ago Mar-Fab noticed a need for a specific line of parts to meet the demands of the industries top mechanics. With existing brands and manufacturers not familiar with "in the field issues" , we noticed durability and fit issues as well as kits not having all the components to complete the job. Many times this required technicians to make multiple orders after the initial one had arrived. In many cases jobs needed parts that were only sold individually to be kitted to simplify, save costs, and complete a job. In 2003 our TECH-2-0 premium engine parts line was developed for the marine technician.

We at Mar-Fab have worked with technicians for over 25 years. The TECH-2-0 outboard and sterndrive line is a result of listening to feedback from technicians, while working with quality-minded engineers and manufactures. Together, we have developed an engine parts line with the premium materials, fit, and durability tech s have requested. The TECH-2-0 line covers parts from gasket sets to gears. One of our many additions for 2008 is our new TECH-2-0 piston line. Let's face it, it is you the technician that really knows what a customer's engine needs to perform the way he expects. Aftermarket replacement parts in the marine industry have been and are being improved tremendously with some very attractive warranties. In some cases they are the identical or even more requested than the OEM. When the need has already been met, our goal is not to just re-package an existing parts line or to encompass every part. When we have requests and identify a need for an improvement that is not available in existing lines, we will research and develop to fill it with TECH-2-0.

Mar-Fab is open for shipping during daylight saving time from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. c.s.t. Monday thru Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays.
